What is Regrab and why does it exist?

Regrab is the first vertical marketplace dedicated exclusively to board sports on water, asphalt, and snow: surf, snowboard, skate, and much more. Here, you can turn your used gear into value and explore special deals crafted for your passion. You’ll find only what you’re really looking for—no generic gear or irrelevant items. Our specialization means more relevant listings, safer transactions, and more authentic experiences compared to general marketplaces: it’s this focus that makes us unique.

What can I do and what equipment can I find on Regrab?

On Regrab you can sell, buy, or discover sports equipment in a safe and transparent way. You’ll find selected products from trusted riders, stock clearance items, one-of-a-kind pieces, prototypes, and even brand-new gear from specialized shops.

The equipment is organized into four main areas, each with specific categories designed to match your passions:

  • Water: hydrofoil, windsurf, kitesurf, surf, SUP, wakeboard, and related accessories.
  • Skate: classic skate, surfskate, cruiser, longboard, and accessories.
  • Snow: snowboard, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and accessories.
  • Apparel & Accessories: streetwear, technical clothing for water and winter sports, footwear, bags, and electronics.

Explore the categories and discover the perfect gear for your favorite sport—new or used—in an environment built by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, where every transaction is simple, safe, and reliable.

What is our mission?

Our mission is to give new life to sports equipment and become the European reference point for buying and selling board sports equipment. We want to build a place where sellers can find reliable buyers and buyers can access carefully selected products, with the assurance of safe and transparent transactions.

How does selling work for private users, and how much does it cost?

Selling on Regrab is simple, free, and transparent:

  1. Create your listing by selecting the categories and technical attributes designed for each sport, so buyers can easily find your item.
  2. Manage the sale from your personal area: here you can update the listing status, communicate with the buyer, and track your transactions.
  3. Ship the package within 5 days of the sale and enter the tracking code so the buyer can follow the shipment.

💰 Costs

Zero commissions, zero hidden fees: 100% of the proceeds go to you, and we cover your credit card transaction costs. Everything is designed to make selling simple, secure, and hassle-free.

What are the packaging guidelines for fragile equipment?

To ensure your gear arrives in perfect condition, proper packaging is essential. Packaging is the seller’s responsibility, but following a few simple guidelines can minimize the risk of damage and give the buyer confidence:

👉 Practical packaging tips

  • Protect delicate parts: use hard covers (rail guards, nose and tail guards) or multiple layers of thick cardboard.
  • Wrap the item completely with bubble wrap or padded material, securing it with tape.
  • Add internal reinforcements: for boards, place polystyrene/foam protections around the nose and tail; for hydrofoils, disassemble parts when possible and pack them individually.
  • Use a slightly larger double-layer box or carton than the item, filling empty spaces with padding material (polystyrene, paper, foam).
  • Close and reinforce well with strong tape, especially on corners and joints.
  • Label as “Fragile” and clearly indicate the correct orientation (“Top/Bottom”).

👉 Why it matters

Careful packaging is the best way to protect yourself: it reduces the risk of damage during transport and strengthens trust between seller and buyer. Additionally, if the packaging does not meet minimum safety standards, any damage may not be covered by the courier.

💡 Tip

Before shipping, take a few photos of the packaging and the ready-to-ship package. It’s a good practice that shows the seller’s care and provides extra protection in case of disputes.

How are shipments for bulky items handled?

Shipping is at the expense and under the responsibility of the seller, who can freely choose the most suitable method. For large and delicate items such as surfboards, snowboards, or kite sails, it’s not necessary to rely solely on standard couriers: there are dedicated logistics solutions for transporting oversized packages, already used by those who ship sports equipment.

👉 Some examples of useful couriers and services

Mail Boxes Etc. (MBE): with centers offering professional packaging and shipping of bulky sports items. • Eurosender: a platform that allows you to compare shipping options, including those for heavy and oversized items. • DHL: with solutions dedicated to oversized and irregularly shaped items. • Spedingo and Macingo: platforms specialized in shipping bulky objects (including sports equipment like boards, kayaks, or skis).

💡 How to calculate costs?

Prices depend on size, weight, and distance. A short board may fit within the “extra large” rates of standard couriers, while long boards or sails often require specialized transport, with costs ranging from a few dozen to over €100 depending on the route.

👉 Important

make sure to check shipping options and costs with your chosen courier before deciding what price to set when listing your item. You can differentiate between domestic shipping and shipping to the rest of Europe: this way, you ensure transparency for the buyer and avoid any surprises.

How does purchasing work and how much does it cost?

Buying on Regrab is simple, safe, and transparent:

  1. Browse the listings and use technical filters to find the gear that’s right for you.
  2. Buy with confidence: the payment is held securely in our system and released to the seller only after you’ve received the package and confirmed that the product matches the listing.
  3. You have 48 hours to report any issues and request a return if the item doesn’t match the description or has defects.

💰 Costs

For each purchase, we apply a Purchase Protection Fee consisting of:

  • a fixed amount of €1
  • 5% of the product price (for the portion up to €500)
  • 2% on the portion of the price exceeding €500

Here are some practical examples:

  • Product price €100: €1 (fixed fee) + €5 (5% of €100) = €6
  • Product price €400: €1 (fixed fee) + €20 (5% of €400) = €21
  • Product price €600: €1 (fixed fee) + €25 (5% of €500) + €2 (2% of €100) = €28

This fee ensures that your payment is safe and that you receive the package as described in the listing, minimizing risks and unwanted surprises during your purchase. Plus, you can forget about credit card transaction fees—they’re on us.

Can I talk to the seller before buying?

Yes, of course! On Regrab, we encourage direct and transparent communication between buyers and sellers. Before completing a purchase, you can use the platform’s internal chat to contact the seller: it’s secure, simple, and allows you to get all the information you need in one place.

👉 What can you ask in the chat?

  • Additional or more detailed photos of the item.
  • Clarifications on the actual condition or previous use.
  • Information about shipping, packaging, or in-person delivery.

Good communication reduces doubts and builds mutual trust: ask all the questions you need so you can buy with confidence.

What does the equipment “Condition” rating scale mean?

To ensure transparency and minimize doubts, we have defined a standard rating scale for item conditions. When creating a listing, make sure to select the category that best represents the actual state of the gear:

  • New: never used, still with tags or original packaging. No signs of use.
  • Refurbished: used item that has been checked, repaired, or restored by a qualified seller or technician. Functions like a new product, with at most minimal cosmetic signs.
  • Used (excellent condition): the item has been used a few times and shows only minor superficial signs (light scratches, no structural damage). Ready to use without any intervention.
  • Used (good condition): normal signs of use (scratches, slight wear), but no defects affecting performance or safety. The gear is fully usable as is.
  • Used (acceptable condition): visible signs of wear and tear (deeper scratches, dents, minor repairs), but still functional. May require minor maintenance or adjustments before use.
  • Used (for repair): the item has damage or defects that require repair (e.g., cracks, tears, missing parts). Suitable for those with technical skills or restoration projects, but not immediately ready for use.

👉 Why it matters

This standardized scale helps sellers and buyers speak the same language. If the actual condition is worse than stated, the buyer is entitled to a refund. Describing the item honestly and accurately is the best way to build trust and complete smooth transactions.

What does the Buyer Protection fee cover?

The Buyer Protection fee is designed to ensure a safe transaction for both parties. It includes:

  • A secure and traceable payment system to protect the transfer of funds.
  • Holding the money until the purchase or return is completed, avoiding the risk of incomplete transactions.
  • The right to a return if the product doesn’t match the description or has defects.
  • Dedicated human support in case of issues or questions during the transaction.
  • Handling of reports for non-compliant products, ensuring transparency and fairness.

In short, it’s our internal guarantee: it protects both buyer and seller, making every transaction safer and more worry-free.

How do we ensure safety and transparency?

On Regrab, safety and transparency are at the core of every transaction. All payments go through Stripe, a secure and certified external platform, and funds remain on hold until the buyer confirms they have received the product as described in the listing.

We constantly monitor listings, suspicious sellers, and reviews to keep the environment trustworthy.

This way, every transaction becomes safer, clearer, and more worry-free—for both buyers and sellers.

When and how can you request a return or refund?

On Regrab you can request a return or refund within 48 hours of receiving the product. All sellers who list items on the platform accept this rule and commit to describing their products clearly, honestly, and thoroughly. If you encounter an issue, you can report it directly from your user area, where you can quickly start the return or refund process. This system protects the buyer, ensuring that any problems can be resolved promptly, and promotes transparent and trustworthy sales across the entire community.

Who pays the shipping costs in case of a return? How is the refund processed?

If you request a return, the seller is obliged to accept it. The shipping costs for returns are borne by the buyer, while the original shipping costs will be refunded. Regrab’s Buyer Protection fee is non-refundable, as it is specifically intended to guarantee this service. We therefore recommend carefully considering your decision before requesting a return.

This system ensures a clear and transparent process, protecting both buyers and sellers and making sure transactions remain safe and reliable.

Is Regrab suitable for shops and businesses too?

Absolutely. On Regrab we collaborate with shops, brands, and retailers, who can sell both new and used gear. To support the needs of professionals, we offer dedicated plans that assist with stock management, product display, sales automation, and invoicing.

Can I complete a sale outside the platform?

Technically, we don’t restrict external transactions, but we strongly recommend communicating and completing all sales through Regrab. This way, we can ensure your safety, protect the payment, and guarantee a transparent transaction.

Moreover, the more you buy and sell on Regrab, the more you become a trusted user in the eyes of the community, making future sales easier and strengthening trust among board sports enthusiasts.

In which areas is Regrab available?

Regrab is active throughout the European Union, as well as in Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Shipments between these countries are traceable, secure, and handled directly between seller and buyer, ensuring reliable and hassle-free transactions.

If your country is not yet supported, you can still create an account to receive updates on platform news and expansion. At the moment, it won’t be possible to buy or sell until we are active in your area, but we are working to reach more and more board sports enthusiasts across Europe and beyond.

Does Regrab really promote sustainability?

Yes, in a tangible way. On Regrab, we extend the useful life of products, reduce waste, and create a virtuous cycle where gear can continue to be used, generate experiences, and bring value to new enthusiasts.

Buying and selling this way means making more sustainable choices, contributing to a positive impact on both the environment and the board sports community.
